done with the main part, reading the bonus material part
if you're like me, not into the storybook type
dig smth that keeps your mind thinking (not talking about sodoku books here)
and gives you a different perspective of situations going on in the world
then this is the book man
go to the book shop and look for book
flip thru it and check it out
and if you realise that you dun really like it
then guess what
you're not really like me after all
been thinking of my future lately
(i'm sure that ppl are going "oh man, not again")
more like thinking of ways to be successful in the future
so here is my latest idea
(warning: it gets a little boring after this, so venture at your own risk)
imagine doing business with virtually no physical contact with your clients
lets say i set up a programming company
my main mean of sales would be my own website, which offers packages for companies to choose from
examples would be:
- Package A = Website
- Package B = Website + Server
- Package C = Website + Server + Firewall
- Package D = Website + Server + Firewall + UPS
- Package E = Website + Server + Firewall + UPS + Lease Lines
obviously the prices would go up according to how many peripherals there are in a package
lets say a company has choosen a package, we will then have to get into contact with them to discuss how things are to be done according to how they like it right
first of all think of how over telecommunication industry has evoled in the last 5 years
we didnt have video calls, video streaming, VOIP (not really under telco but whatever)
now think of how its going to evolve in the next 5 years
imagine contacting your clients through VOIP, conference calling, video conferencing (http://www.ojophone.com/products/ojophone) and of cos the ever trustable (most of the time) Email
we can use Email, VOIP and conference calling for basic communications, and video conferencing for presentations and such
physical meetings can be replaced and thus time may be saved for better results in the project (think travel time, as vendors usually go down to the clients' office for meetings)
clients may preview the websites thru online portals that allow you to run sets of codes and preview them
of cos there are many many details to be sort out, and taking away the physical interaction between the vendor and the client does post some serious setbacks
but wouldn't it be great taking advantage of the technology that is right in front of us
think about it, business 5 years from now..
